Advanced tools

T⁠-⁠Kartor USA has developed a conflation suite (Kraken) designed to promote repeatable accurate conflation through the use of automation that reduces costs and increases conflation. Our conflation method is designed to preserve feature level interaction and transference of attribution between conflation sources and supports all geometry types. AIRAC based Production

T⁠-⁠Kartor group has many years of outsourced Aeronautical Information production experience with 20 years of producing Special Air Charts in scales 1:50.000 up to 1:1.000.000 for European Defence customers and 10 years producing ICAO 1:500 000 charts for a European Civil Aviation Authority.

World class service level

T⁠-⁠Kartor’s fully maintained seamless cartographic database enables rapid, flexible and cost effective AIRAC-based production for any use. Our continuously enhanced production system offers a high degree of automation based on open-source technology retaining the highest level of control. The digital workflow delivers 85 million sq km of air charts per year, with a full update of accurate aeronautical charts and rasters every AIRAC cycle.

Automation tools

Vertical obstacles are analysed and loaded weekly. The obstacles undergo a generalisation and change analysis, creating a dataset with only changes. The system automatically classifies candidates where significant changes have occurred. Operators analyse and then decide if action should be taken to publish a NOTAM.  Obstacles then undergo Automated clustering for each scale following customisable rules.

AIRAC change detection

The WASP Portal (Web-based AIRAC Support) offers users a visualisation of changes detected between AIRAC deliveries. The support data consists of changes and updates in vertical obstacles and airspace, navigation aids, and aerodrome information. Important updates (NOTAMs) are published by the system as separate dataset.  Map rasters are produced and published in WASP for each AIRAC cycle.


Our unique Print-On-Demand service for use on local printers allows products to be printed directly on high capacity printers within each squadron. Seamless output formats such as GeoTIFF, Geospatial PDF or CADRG can also be tailored to fit any viewer system.

Automated output

Our rendering system offers a faster, more flexible and more generic way to produce final output files for air charts, allowing control of each individual colour in the output process. The automated production manager creates all products, including marginalia. This reduces cost, improves collaboration and ensures consistency.
